Walking through Epcot in early 2019, it was like the parking hasn’t really changed since its opening in 1982.
According to the Disney’s Disney Park Blog they plan to have new experiences with modernized touches that Wow while keeping Epcot’s original vision.
The remodel includes a new play pavilion with new interactive area which will feature Disney characters and hands-on activities. They have an area very similar to what they describe already. Which with older technology. They currently have a globe where you see your pictures float to where your from after you come off the Spaceship Earth ride. In the same area they have interactive, hands on areas to play games. To be honest, I haven’t played the games in so long they might very well be the same ones from when I was a small me. I hope they update this area on a grander scale than they have in the past. Its a great space to have some real futuristic fun.
Other Epcot changes include the refurbishment of Spaceship Earth. Which I featured in a previous blog as my favorite Disney World ride, EVER! Spaceship Earth is scheduled for a serious re modernization. According to wdwnt.com, Disney will be shutting down Spaceship Earth for 2 years starting in 2020 and scheduled to reopen right in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2022.
I can’t wait to see this new and improved Epcot. Unfortunately, 2022 seems so far away! Over 2 and a half years away. It should be fun. I’m so excited.
