Universal Studios | Men in Black Experience (Immigration Tour)

Our new Universal Studios friend, Jeffrey, who I discussed in length from my previous blog (if you haven’t already read that one please go check it out here http://www.1millionpageslater.com/2019/02/universal-studios-orlando-race-through.html) was cool enough to not only give us a private tour of the behind the scenes of Race Through New York starring Jimmy Fallon BUT he also told us about something pretty cool at Men in Black we just had to check out.

Jeffrey told us to ask one of the staffers for the Immigration Tour at the Men in Black ride in Universal. As a daughter of immigrant parents and grandparents this kinda scared me. But then I remembered this is Universal Studios. The land of movie magic. Also, Men in Black had the whole protocol and playing by the rules so Immigration doesn’t go after them. Blah blah blah. After I stopped sweating I got pretty excited.

The Race Through New York tour was amazing awesome and so cool. So logically the Men in Black Immigration Tour must have been equally as cool. Right? We would soon see.

We hop off the Race Through New York Ride, find my mom, head downstairs and we stop to hear Gavin DeGraw’s rehearsal show. Which was pretty awesome. No lines. No large crowds. Just him, his band, some oopsies and he played the One Tree Hill song which is pretty much the only song I know of his. Yikes! Still awesome!

Once he was done we raced to Men in Black. See what I did there? We raced through NY so now we are racing to the Immigration Tour. Hehe.

We get to Men in Black. We ask one of the staffers at the ride. She tells us we have to see if they have enough staff to take us and it will be about 20 minutes. A little deflated we stay and wait. Turns out they did have enough staffers and we only waited 20 seconds.

We are guided through the side of the ride line. Pass the group waiting outside. We go through a side door on the side of the Men in Black building. We are officially behind the scenes. We pass picick tables that staff members are enjoying some food, we wave and say hi and are lead inside of Men in Black now. They have a break room in there too and they were having a meeting. Pretty neat. Side note: Am I weird that I like all this stuff? If I am, I don’t want to be normal.

I digress.

We are being lead pass the staff lounge where they are having a meeting, walked pass the staff awards and bulleton boards. Normal work place stuff. Then we turn the corner. Our Men in Black guide tells us we can take all the pictures we want we just can’t touch the aliens.

We’re still in Men in Black the ride right? Last I checked.

Then she opens a room which seems to be pitch black, we walk a little and BOOM we are in a roomo where two aliens are operating a monitor. We’re in a first floor and there is a 2nd floor balcony like that wraps around the room where rider are awaitin inthe line for the ride. It was pretty cool.

You can see the pics. We got to take some pics of the aliens, of the room, of the office desks, of this little pod room I don’t have any pics of.

When we were done, she escorted us back the same way and just like that the Immigration tour was over.

Next time you’re at Universal Studios, stop by Men in Black and ask the staffers at the front of the ride for the Immigration tour. Don’t let them give you a hard time. Stay for it. There are enough staff members to accommodate. I think its worth it.

It’s a 20 minute break from standing in lines, you’re in the AC and you’re out of the sun. And you get to see some cool stuff.
