Beef Brisket Poutine Fries

I’m still full and I’ve been back in Miami for over 2 days now. Really and truly we ate so much. Our mistake was eating breakfast at 10 am then head to the park. We thought we would be less full from walking to the park. Yea, nope, never happened. I’ve been fill since Saturday morning breakfast. It’s not Tuesday.

Enough of how full I still am. Let me tell you WHY I’m still full.

Lobster Chips

Disney Worlds Epcot Festival of the Arts is really less about the art and more about the food. And I’m not talking about yucky Disney hot dogs and burgers. I’m talking about pieces of edible art. All sorts of different foods from all sorts of regions. It was so yum!

Our first stop was right outside Canada at the Refreshment Port where we tried Lobster Chips and beef brisket poutine fries. These were both mouth watering delicious. The homemade fries were crunchy, fresh and the toppings were very fresh tasting as well. For my first introduction to the world of poutine fries these were absolutely amazing. Fries were perfectly fried, the brisket was tender, gravy was savoury, can’t go wrong with nacho cheese and the crispy fried onions were the perfect touch. Yes, this was not traditional. But neither am I. We were off to an amazing start. This was just the first country we stopped at and we were already starting to get full. But we couldn’t stop. There was so much food to try. Now was when I started to feel like there wasn’t going to be enough room in my stomach to be able to try everything the I wanted to.

Beef Wellington

Next on our list was one of the items I wanted most… the Sushi Donut from the Takumi Table in the Japan Pavilion. We knew we were getting closer because we were seeing the sushi donuts on everyone’s plates. It was time. Something to note about me, sushi is my favorite food. I can literally have sushi breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s just so good if fresh of course. At first glance up close, it’s so pretty. But was it yummy? It was. Not the freshest. Not not fresh but just not the freshest fish I’ve tasted. It was good. Just blandish. I was also very sad there was no eel sauce or spicy mayo. Which I’m a huge fan of.

Sushi donut down now we are off to find the Beef Wellingon in the American Pavilion. Next to the Sushi Donut we were most excited to have the wellington. It just looks do smol, so cute and you just want to pop it in your mouth. My mouth is water as I type this. We were getting really full at this point so we split an order. Which was plenty for me. It was good. A little dry and a bit soggy on the bottom of the dough but good. I was happy. Will I order it again? Meh. Maybe. Maybe not. Not the worst thing I’ve had in my mouth.

Paint Churros

Oh! How can I forget. We also got a giant paint cookie. Which was really good. Cookie was large with a good flavor. I would have had it without the paint dots. The paint was white chocolate with food coloring I was told. It was meh. LOL I’m not a huge fan of food colored food. LOVED the cookie though.

AND finally we were on the hunt for the churros dipped in paint aka frosting and food coloring. I was really excited for this item too. However, this was the most disappointing food item. The churros weren’t fresh. They were stale. Hard. Super chewy. They tasted greasy. And again, the food coloring was meh.

However, a few bad churros didn’t ruin my experience. It was so fun. Each paviolion had new foods. So many foods we weren’t able to eat beause we were so full already. Next time, we have to choose wisely about what we eat.

You put on a great show Disney. I wouldn’t be mad if I came back next year. I kinda want to go to Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival this year though. Until the next adventure.

Happy travels,

Mel
